Bottled Up
February 20th 2008 22:37
We spent the week at Tresillion brushing up on our parenting skills the other week. Even if we didn't learn all that much (We were there for settling and bubs was like a perfect baby for the whole week!) it was nice to relax and take a break from it all.
It did open my mind though to the myriad of problems that other couples have. Some Mums in particular have difficulty producing milk. Some not enough, some not at all.
Why is this so interesting?
Well if you're a Mum and you are bottle feeding your baby with formula it is often frowned upon and there are many people who would probably criticise you. Of course some of this is also perceived criticism too as so many people advocate breastfeedng as the best option.
Of course there are also some babies that simply won't take breast.
I think its good to have your eyes opened occasionally and be shown the reality that some people face.
