Batteries not included....

We've all been there....
You've just arrived home from the shops with your brand new spanking item, it's getting late and you're eager to kick back and relax with your new toy. Upon opening the box you realise there are no batteries included and so, too tired to wander to the nearest shops you are destined to wait another 24 hours before you can use it properly. Frustrating
Which is why I was surprised with the two recent purchases I made for our bubs. Having run into the "Batteries not included" problem with his rocker (which vibrates and plays music), his gym (which plays music and has lights) and a number of other toys.
It was nice for a change to have a toy that didn't need batteries at all and one that actually came with them included.
One of these was the "Musical Inch WOrm" which isn't actually really musical par se. More like it creates different noises using a variety of rather unsophisticated means. Like the type of material it has on the outside, a bell and some things you can push that make a certain sound. Batteries are not required.
Interestingly the Fisher and Price Peek a boo Piano (or Kick Piano) comes with batteries included. For a bub that loves music I don't think you can go far wrong with this one (despite its quite hefty price tag at $75).
I must say that I recommend both of these.
Do you find the reliance on batteries frustrating? Are toys getting too complicated for their own good?
